Big E's Smokehouse is run and operated by the Hernandez family who have deep rooted ties to the community. The family consists of Ernie Hernandez, his wife Norma C. Hernandez, their children Ernie Hernandez Jr., Erin H. Garcia, E. Michael Hernandez and his wife Daisy Hernandez.

Michael Hernandez, is considered among the Barbecue circles in South Texas to be a hardened and experienced Grill Master. He brings year and years of experience and family recipes to this restuarant.
